Rules

Teams: Teams will be created based on players’ ability, with four teams of five skaters and two teams of six skaters. Matt Graue, Tucker Halle, Devin Kempel, and Jacob Thompson will alternate playing goalie.

Periods: There are three games per night, with each team playing one game. Each game will have two 20-minute running time periods with a 2-minute break between periods. Players will change on the fly. Players will switch ends during the 2-minute break between periods and shoot on the opposing goalie.

Ice Surface: The squirts and peewees will play full-ice with two goalies.

Rules: There will be an opening faceoff and a faceoff after every goal. If a penalty is called, the player will sit on the bench for one minute and the team will play shorthanded. No checking is allowed. Fighting and major penalties will lead to an automatic league ejection.

Points: There will be three rounds of play. Two points will be awarded for a win, with no points awarded to the losing team. If a game ends in a tie, each team receives one point. The two teams with the most points after the three rounds will play in the championship game on Thursday night. The next two point leaders will play for 3rd/4th, and the bottom two point leaders will play for 5th/6th.  If there is a points tie, the team with the most goals scored in the first three rounds will receive an additional point.

Workers: A high school player will serve as referee. A parent volunteer will run the clock.
